The Government Affairs Council of the ERCC invites members and guests to hear from Laura Manion, MPA, Manager, Great Lakes Region, Government Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Laura's Bio:
Laura Manion is currently serving as a Manager for the Great Lakes Regional Office for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Manion cultivates and maintains legislative, political, media, and grassroots resources throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to further the Chamber’s public policy goals. In addition, she helps lead the Chamber’s efforts to strengthen its relationships with members of Congress through member businesses, associations, and local and state chambers of commerce across the region.
In her previous role, Laura served as Assistant Director of Government Affairs and Community Relations at Villanova. She handled all local matters pertaining to the University, working closely with county and township officials, leaders from the business associations and local chambers, as well as the University’s neighbors. Laura was responsible for spearheading numerous initiatives at Villanova focusing on “town-gown” relations, including the inaugural “Villanova Dines Out! Restaurant Week,” which included fifty participating restaurants along the Main Line. She presented on such topics at the International Town Gown Association and Pennsylvania Municipal League Annual Conference. Laura hosted a monthly show, “Community Conversations with Laura Wagoner” on Main Line Public Television where she interviewed members of the Villanova and Main Line communities.
Laura graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 2013 with a degree in Government and began making her mark on Pennsylvania politics. In 2017, she was elected National Committeewoman for the Pennsylvania Young Republicans. Laura is a graduate of the prestigious Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series Class in 2017. Laura was awarded the 2018 Above and Beyond award by City & State magazine, recognizing 25 exceptional women from Pennsylvania for their accomplishments across various sectors including politics, healthcare, education, and nonprofits. Vista Today named her a member of their inaugural 40 Chester County Superstars under 40 in 2019. Laura graduated with a master’s in public administration from West Chester University in 2017.
In her previous roles as Finance Director of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania and Executive Director at the Republican Committee of Chester County, Manion handled all fundraising efforts and event planning, local and national media, campaign finance, as well as assisting local, state, and federal campaigns in their victory efforts. She has organized events topping over 800 people with presidential candidates and other prominent legislators. During her time as Finance Director for the PA GOP, Laura oversaw events, direct response mail, major gifts, and small dollar donor programs.
Manion is an energetic community volunteer, working most frequently with the Valley Forge Park Alliance. She sits on the board of the Alliance and runs their Facebook page, in addition to coordinating numerous events in the Park. She and her husband, and their Great Dane Freddie, live in Phoenixville, PA.
